Ebola breaks out in Democratic Republic of Congo.

It’s too early to tell where this is going, but the fact that it’s cropping up again is bad news. This comes two years after that massive outbreak they had in Liberia and Sierra Leone. Ebola isn’t something to joke about and even though they have a vaccine it can still get really bad.

Especially in Africa these diseases take over and randomly pop up, there was a bout of black death plague in Madagascar that was worse than their annual outbreak they get every year. Madagascar and plagues. Annual occurrence of Plague. Yep. Generally a bad thing; all around. We got lucky though that this didn’t do an human species wipe out thing.

These things occur because of a lack of infrastructure. If they don’t have sanitation and basic healthcare who can wonder that deadly viruses take a bite out every so often. How much more luck could we possibly have, when will our luck run out.

When I speak about Global Unity, I don’t speak about it cause I want people to be broke or unhappy, I don’t want to tell anyone they have to do something about it – but the reality is we DO have to do something about it. And soon too. Not only is it the right thing to do, after all would you want your loved ones to suffer like that, without even basic necessities? But it’s also a case of our potential survival as a species.

Transition is all about uplifting those territories which lack infrastructure. Many of them will be in Africa. Perhaps then we won’t see scary headlines anymore about Plagues and Ebola and other virulent creepiness.

    So – to – discuss:

    * Does poverty & lack of infrastructure cause these viruses to pop up?

    * Can these actually wipe us out as a species or seriously harm us?

    * How will we deal with keeping safe when we do help out various communities?

    * Do people in 1st world countries have a responsibility to our fellow humans?
